ARDSICON 2009
Kolkata calls for Memory Solidarity
at Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kolkata

Welcome to the XVth National Conference of ARDSI – ARDSICON 2009.

True to the spirit of this year’s Conference Theme, “Dementia Solidarity”, the three-day event at Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kolkata from December 4 to 6 will showcase the country’s united resolve to tackle the disease of the century.

Persons with Dementia, care givers, doctors, scholars, social activists, policy thinkers, and prominent personalities of the contemporary society will take part in the truly multi-disciplinary deliberations.
The invited faculty includes as many as 15 international and 22 national speakers. There will be scientific sessions, sessions on care giving and other social issues, strategy session, and Dementia Solidarity session. A day’s intensive training in care giving will be conducted by experts.

Two important publications will be launched at the Conference.
One tells us the tale of a care giver in his mid-eighties, who is still continuing with his mission of care giving for his wife in the terminal stage of AD. This is an engrossing memoir, and, more than any thing else, it is an enriching experience of dealing with fading memories.
The other book is a collection of articles authored by noted doctors, researchers and professional care givers, who have taken up the mission of explaining the A-to-Z of Dementia to a non-technical common man.
There is much more in store. Kolkata symbolises care, hospitality and solidarity. So, do join ARDSICON 2009 and be part of India’s Memory Summit.

Please remember: Early Bird Registration is open.
